Blue Lagoon Iceland – Euro-Trip Day 17

This was our second last day in Iceland, and Sunny had planned a relaxing romantic day at the Blue Lagoon Iceland. The Blue Lagoon is a geothermal spa and one of Iceland’s most visited tourist attractions. It is very close to the airport making it a great first or last stop on your trip.

Blue Lagoon

The Blue Lagoon is not the cheapest hot springs in Iceland but it is the most well developed. They have an awesome restaurant Lava that we enjoyed dinner at in the evening. We pre-booked the Luxury package and enjoyed all aspects of it. The luxury package at the Blue Lagoon includes private change rooms, exclusive lounge access, complimentary slippers and robes, and light refreshments. These were all welcome treats for our afternoon.

We spent over three hours wading around, enjoying a couple of beers and the mud masks. We left the camera in our room, so sorry no up close pictures of us swimming 😉

After our swim we made our way to Lava for a delicious four course meal.

We would highly recommend the Blue Lagoon for anyone visiting Iceland. It is an extremely busy spot so plan your time accordingly!

We would also highly recommend the Luxury package. It was nice to have private change rooms, private sitting area, and private entrance. It was also great that we did not have to wait in line to get in. We saw lineups that were more than 40 people deep.

If you feel like pampering yourself on your last day in Iceland the Luxury Package at the Blue Lagoon is an awesome experience.

The food at Lava Restaurant was also exquisite. Like everything in Iceland it was not inexpensive – so bring your wallets!
