Fairmont St Andrews – Euro-Trip Day #4
Day 4 of our trip saw us spend the entire day around the Fairmont St Andrews.
It is a beautiful property boasting two high calibre golf courses, stunning sea views, delicious food and a great bar selection. Sunny had planned this day to be a relaxing break during the trip.
We slept in and just barely made the cut-off for a lovely buffet breakfast. After breakfast we went for a stroll on the St Andrews Coastal Walk, which crossed 3 sea view golf courses, skirted ranchland, and took us down to the rocky shore.
It was a lovely way to spend the morning, and when we got back to the hotel we enjoyed a nice beverage with some soup and salad. We put the cameras away at this point and just enjoyed each other’s company and the amazing staff and service at the hotel.
After lunch we made our way to the Fairmont St Andrews Spa for a couple of well overdo massages. We followed those up with a soak in the jacuzzi and then a cleansing steam.
Following our spa treatment we made our way down to the St Andrews Bar & Grill, which is at the clubhouse of the golf course on the Fairmont’s property. We had an amazing dinner (with some Robert Burns inspired haggis balls as an appetizer) and dessert before we finished the night off playing Draco Magi over a nightcap at Kittocks Den inside the hotel.
All in all it was a great way to celebrate our 3 year marriage anniversary, 10 year being-together anniversary, 5 year business workiversary, and our birthdays – all of which occur in a small 6 month period.
