Alpacas In New Zealand
Sunny was in charge of booking all the accommodations on the trip, and Day 6 was highly anticipated because we would have the chance to play with alpacas in New Zealand! We booked a one night stay at the Falcon’s Rise Alpaca Farm, which was an amazing B&B not too far south from Picton. Picton is on the South Island, and is where you take the ferry to from Wellington, which is the capital of New Zealand and on the North Island.
Before taking the ferry with Bluebridge The Cook Strait Ferry from Wellington to Picton, we walked around the downtown area of Wellington, grabbed a coffee and some lunch.
There are a couple of ferry companies that travel the Cook Strait between the North and South Islands. We took Bluebridge on the way to Picton. We enjoyed our trip on the ferry, which was around 3.5 hours.
After playing with the alpacas, we went into town and picked up pizza from a local pub. We made our way back to the B&B had some dinner and called it another early night. Jess wanted to get up early again the following morning to get some sunrise shots with the alpacas.
Stay tuned for more photos!
