Devonian Botanic Gardens Wedding

Rachel and Adam exchanged beautiful, tearful vows in the company of their closest family and friends during their gorgeous Devonian Botanic Gardens wedding.

It was important to Rachel & Adam to spend as much of their day together as possible. This meant an early morning first-look and wedding party meet up at the Alberta Legislature grounds. This iconic Edmonton location meant just a little bit more to Rachel and Adam because it was where they had one of their first dates.

A September wedding is always a gamble in Alberta, but Rachel and Adam’s wedding day was the absolute most picture perfect autumn day. The artfully manicured Devonian Botanic Gardens were vibrant with colour and made for a stunning backdrop for this intimate wedding ceremony. Family and friends were invited to share the day at the park and join the couple for their late afternoon ceremony.

Wanting to make the most of the beautiful light, Rachel and Adam set aside some quiet time for evening portraits at the Alberta Legislature grounds before heading to the reception. The Matrix Hotel played host to an elegant dinner reception for Rachel and Adam. Following dinner and speeches these two lovebirds and their friends enjoyed a rockin’ dance party.

In 2017, the Devonian Botanic Gardens changed its name to the University of Alberta Botanic Gardens. 

This beautiful venue is now operated by the University of Alberta but many of the gardens are still the same as you remember. During 2017/2018 many renovations will be taking place to improve the facilities and expand the garden spaces.
