Scottish Wedding In Edmonton
We met Caitlin and Burke a year ago while photographing their friend’s wedding. It was shortly after that when Burke popped the question and started planning their Scottish wedding.
Caitlin and Burke are free spirited and love to travel. So, with a couple of friends by their side, this adventurous couple eloped to Scotland, were married in a castle and had a snowy owl as their ring bearer. Unfortunately we were not available to photograph the ceremony in Scotland, but is sounded amazing.
This bride and groom knew that while their elopement was for them, there were a lot of people back home who wanted to celebrate with the newlyweds. Caitlin and Burke planned an Edmonton reception in November where they held a short hand-fasting ceremony and dinner for family and friends who were not able to join them in Scotland.
These newlyweds planned their wedding to be the day that they wanted. Their intimate and adventurous elopement in Scotland and a big wedding reception back in their home city of Edmonton. We love it when couples have the wedding day (or days) of their dreams and celebrate their love in their way.
On the rainy November afternoon in Edmonton, the weather resembled quite closely that of Scotland. The misty rain only added to the warm and cozy feel of Caitlyn and Burke’s Scottish wedding in Edmonton.
Their reception was held at the Slovenian Canadian Association Hall, which was recently renovated and looked absolutely stunning. A large, bright banquet hall lit by glimmering chandeliers and filled with joyous family and friends.
Congratulations Caitlin and Burke, and thank you for inviting Deep Blue Photography to be part of your awesome Edmonton reception!
