McDougall United Church Wedding
Heidi and Robert’s beautiful McDougall United Church wedding was a celebration of two lives and two families coming together.
Heidi and Robert had their first glimpse at each other as the sturdy oak doors of McDougall United Church opened and the cello began to play. During a beautiful ceremony, Heidi and Robert said their vows, exchanged their rings and brought two families together.
Spring weather in Edmonton is notoriously unpredictable, so when Heidi and Robert planned their wedding for early April they were hopeful that the weather would cooperate. Their hopes and prayers must have been heard, because despite having nearly six-inches of snow the week before, Heidi and Robert’s wedding day was absolutely perfect.
The leaves were not yet out on the trees, but the gorgeous Alberta skies did not disappoint. We had a bright blue sky and lovely golden hour. Perfect soft romantic light for outdoor spring wedding portraits.
Heidi and Rob joined their guests at the Old Timers Cabin for their evening wedding reception. The reception hall glowed warmly, lit by countless strands of Edison lights. Hundreds of electric candles in tiny floating glass orbs hung over the head table. The soft flickering lights made the reception hall a romantic and intimate space.
The La Poutine food truck arrived just before midnight to serve up made to order poutine. This was the perfect fuel to keep Heidi and Robert’s dance party rocking well into the night. Guests were served up a selection of Edmonton’s finest poutine. The night was clear and beautiful so those waiting for their poutine were treated to a sky full of stars.
Congratulations Heidi and Robert, thank you for inviting Deep Blue Photography to be part of your enchanting McDougall United Church wedding.
