Country Engagement Photos
A few short weeks ago this couple took the first step in the pursuit of a long time dream to move out of the city and build a small eco farm. You can tell just by looking at Kris and Kelsey how much they love each other and how hard they have worked to build a life for themselves and their family. Their beautiful farm was the perfect setting for their country engagement photos.
It was a beautiful summer evening near Athabasca as we set out to explore the area. The late sunset was a spectacular end to this cute and romantic country engagement session. Kris’ son (who was there to help watch the dogs) even joined in for a few family portraits.
We could not have asked for a nicer sunset that evening. The neighbours cows were grazing in the field as the sun set. We found a couple of frogs by one of the barns, and the mosquitoes were swarming. It was an idyllic setting for country engagement photos.
We love it when couples invite us into their space or to a location that holds a deep meaning for them. Traveling to Athabasca meant leaving the city behind and setting forth on an adventure. The rolling hills, endless miles of forests and fields are the perfect setting for country engagement photos.
If you are interested in getting engagement photos done prior to your wedding, we highly recommend it! Kris & Kelsey hosted their wedding at their home farm, and the engagement session was a great opportunity for us to see the area and get to know the best spots for their wedding. Some couples tell us that their engagement photos are the first time they’ve had professional photos taken together. If this sounds like you, you should check out our guide for preparing for engagement photos. It gives a lot of helpful tips on how to approach what may seem like a nerve-wracking photo shoot.
