Clerks Quarters Wedding Edmonton
Rachel and Shaun’s Clerks Quarters wedding Edmonton was a gorgeous day full of love, tradition and sweet smiles.
We first met Rachel & Shaun back in November of 2012, on one of the coldest and snowiest days of the year – thank goodness the weather took a 180 degree turn and was absolutely gorgeous the day of their wedding on May 31, 2013!
It was a warm spring day when the closest friends and family of Rachel and Shaun gathered at Fort Edmonton Park (actually in the Fort!) to share in the union of this beautiful young couple.
Now, Rachel and Shaun are a very cool and eclectic couple who wanted to make their wedding ceremony extra special. To open their ceremony they had their close friend perform a traditional Smudge Ceremony to bless their marriage. During their ceremony, they had a friend play singing bowls – it was a beautiful soft singing (or ringing) of huge crystal bowls. So beautiful!
Following the ceremony Rachel and Shaun paused for a few family photos before gathering their wedding party for a walk through Fort Edmonton Park! The park was empty other than another wedding happening just down the street. We were able to freely roam the grounds and take some very cute and very fun portraits of this couple and their wedding party.
Returning to the reception, our couple relaxed with their friends and family, shared heartwarming speeches and proudly shared their first dance as husband and wife. Rachel and Shaun decided to forgo the DJ-route and hired a local musician, Martin Kerr, to play acoustic guitar. It all fit so well with the intimate interior of the Clerks Quarters at Fort Edmonton Park.
