Azul Fives Wedding
Paige and Ian’s Azul Fives wedding in Mexico was a week long party on the beautiful white sand beaches of the Mayan Riviera.
The Azul Fives resort is nestled along the Mayan Riviera’s beautiful stretch of white sand beaches. This beautiful gourmet resort was the backdrop for Paige and Ian’s tropical destination wedding. The days leading up to the wedding were a mixed bag of bright scorching sun, calm ocean breezes and unpredictable torrential downpours. Erring on the side of caution Paige and Ian changed their original ceremony location from the beach to a more sheltered area of the resort. The new venue while not on the beach as they had hoped for was a stunning modern venue with a certain romantic charm.
The morning of the wedding both bride and groom met their wedding party for breakfast before splitting off to get ready. Paige and her ladies relaxed in the salon with mimosas as the spa staff took care of the hair and makeup. The gentlemen relaxed and soaked up some sun before retiring to the Groom’s Suite to hang out and get ready.
Paige and Ian chose to have a first look before their ceremony. As Paige rounded the corner and made her way towards Ian, she was literally tripping all over herself in excitement. It was when Ian turned around that they both burst out laughing. Ian took one look at his bride to be and wrapped his arms right around her. After a few minutes they called to their wedding party who was anxiously waiting around the corner. Paige and Ian were lost in love that day, no posing and no direction was needed as this couple snuggled, giggled and showed off beautiful smiles. Even as a torrential downpour came out of nowhere we grabbed a couple of umbrellas and headed to the ceremony.
As the ceremony began Paige hid around the corner with her father, waiting for her bridesmaids to enter and the music to change. She had the biggest and brightest smile unaware that Ian’s normally cool and collected vibe was dissolving in the most beautiful happy tears. Their sweet and intimate ceremony was celebrated with the exchange of vows and a champagne toast.
Cocktails and dinner were served at a private reception at La Brasserie restaurant. It had been elegantly decorated with plush lounge chairs and sparkling chandeliers. In replacement of the traditional clinking of glasses, guest were invited to blow up a beach ball to make the bride and groom kiss. The bride and groom along with their guests lit up the dance floor and partied until close. On their way to the after party we were lucky enough to steal the bride and groom away for a new night portraits on the beach.
