Outdoor Autumn Wedding
Emilee and Josh’s outdoor autumn wedding was held at Josh’s grandparents acreage west of Stony Plain on a chilly October afternoon. Wrapped in toasty knit blankets, family and friends gathered to witness the union between Josh and Emilee.
One thing we knew right away about Emilee and Josh is that they love the country. For their engagement session they took us out to Josh’s family’s original homestead and farm. You can check out their engagement photos here!
Emilee and Josh both have a great sense of humor and they are also extremely practical. When discussing their options for a unity ceremony to perform during their wedding they came upon the perfect idea; they would each write a letter to each other full of the love and hope that they had for each other and their future together. On the day of the wedding they would each place their sealed letter into the box along with 2 glasses and a bottle of Grey Goose. Inscribed on the box is the phrase “because a unity candle never saved a marriage”. They made for themselves a box to “break in case of an emergency”.
The autumn colours combined with the country setting made for a beautiful afternoon portrait session with the wedding party. This energetic group hardly noticed the chilly temperatures as they wandered the park in a mass of raucous laughter.
As the sun set Emilee and Josh made their entrance into their lavishly decorated reception in Stony Plain. Both Emilee and Josh had carefully chosen the members of their wedding party and this was never more clear as when they each went up to say a few words about the couple. Tears flowed and laugher rang through the banquet hall as each person raised their glasses to the bride and groom.
Congratulations again and thank you for inviting Deep Blue Photography to capture your beautiful outdoor autumn wedding.
