Hotel MacDonald Wedding
Cathy and Fraser celebrated their beautiful Hotel MacDonald Wedding with a lot of love, laughter and penguins.
This elegant autumn wedding took place at two gorgeous historic venues in the heart of downtown Edmonton. These two landmarks sit perfectly perched on the edge of the river valley and offer some of the best scenery in the city.
Both Cathy and Fraser wanted to get ready and have photos taken at the Fairmont Hotel MacDonald prior to the wedding ceremony. It took some ninja-like stealth and wedding party coordination but we managed to pull off a full set of bridesmaids portraits, groomsmen portraits and even a few family portraits without letting the groom catch a glimpse at his bride.
Family and friends gathered at St. Joachim church for an intimate wedding ceremony. It was there that they witnessed Cathy and Fraser exchange their vows, their rings and become husband and wife. This wedding party was ready to celebrate as they popped the champagne and danced their way into the dinner reception at the historic Fairmont Hotel MacDonald.
Cathy and Fraser’s vision was for an elegant and romantic wedding day, with a few penguins (Cathy’s absolute favourite thing in the world…apart from Fraser). A stunning blue-hour meant that we were able to sneak the bride and groom away for a few quiet moments together and some beautiful night portraits.
The love between these two is simply magic, so we added a little bit of sparkle to their day with night wedding portraits with sparklers.
Thank you for inviting Deep Blue Photography to be part of your elegant Hotel MacDonald Wedding.
Cathy and Fraser joined us in beautiful Banff National Park for a snowy winter engagement session. It was a perfectly clear night, perfect for some star watching and engagement photos under the night sky.
