Magrath Mansion Wedding
Kara and Al are two adventurous souls with a beautiful love story. At the center of their family is their spunky 15 year old pup, Charlie. Even their canine companion was dressed in his best for Kara and Al’s elegant Magrath Mansion wedding.
Nestled along the high banks of the Edmonton River Valley is one of the most stunning and exclusive properties in the city. Built in 1912, the Magrath Mansion boasts pristinely manicured grounds and an impressive and elegant backdrop for weddings.
In true Edmonton fashion, the day was filled with just about every type of weather imaginable. Thankfully guests came prepared with umbrellas because as the musician struck the first chord on his guitar, the skies opened up.
Kara was walked down the aisle by her Grandmother who gave a special blessing to the newlyweds on behalf of the bride’s late father. The ceremony was sweet, sentimental and officiated by Al’s uncle who had flown in from Newfoundland for the event. To bind their unity as husband and wife, there was a hand fasting ceremony in honour of the groom’s Scottish roots. As Kara and Al were announced as husband and wife, a piper lead them down the aisle.
It was a gorgeous afternoon spent with this couple, their family and friends. The Magrath Mansion is a perfect outdoor wedding location for an intimate and romantic affair. There is something special about the old world charm of this place.
The wedding reception was held at the Polish Hall downtown. Kara and Al’s party was kicked up a notch with two live bands that rocked the night away. Hats off to both The Madadors and The Whiskey Shieks
