You want to work with an awesome wedding photography team
There are very few husband & wife photography teams that shoot weddings together. We have photographed almost every single one of our 115+ weddings together. This means you get two experienced photographers with you all day. We work exceptionally well together and have a great system to ensure we are both able to work to our strengths.

You want to know who you are working with
When you hire Deep Blue Photography you are hiring Sunny & Jess. You meet both us. You know both us. We take all your pictures. We edit all your pictures. There will be no strangers showing up on your wedding day to take pictures. There will be no strangers editing your photos.

It is common for wedding photographers to use second shooters/assistants that the couple will only meet for the first time on the morning of the wedding. Most of our couples meet with the two of us at least 3 times prior to the wedding.

It is also becoming more common for wedding photographers to outsource their editing. They do this to save time so they can shoot more weddings. We understand this practice, but we would rather shoot fewer weddings and handle all the culling and editing ourselves. We believe our clients deserve 100% of our attention on their wedding pictures.

You are not a model and we won't treat you like one
100% of the images we take and share are real people. We do not share pictures of models in styled shoots. All of the images we share are from real weddings with real couples. Almost every single award winning image we have is a real, candid, natural moment. Our biggest strength is capturing true moments in a creative, unique manner – because you are unique.

You want fun, creative, and artistic wedding photos
With easy access to technology it is true that just about anybody can photograph a wedding. However, few people can photograph a wedding well, and even fewer can capture a wedding day exceptionally. We have both been recognized nationally and internationally – as a team and individually – with numerous awards from the Professional Wedding Photographers Of CanadaCanada Photo Convention, and International Society of Professional Wedding Photographers.

You want experienced professionals making your day easier
One of the biggest stresses in wedding planning is finding the right team to bring your dream wedding together. Hiring caterers, venues, DJs, photographers, videographers, officiants, florists, and a host of other wedding professionals can be a daunting task. We have worked with dozens of each of these types of vendors and have the experience to help guide you through the process. We aren’t just there for one day. We work with you throughout the process of planning to ensure that not just your photography is handled, but any questions you may have are answered.

We provide a survey after each wedding to the couple and ask them about each of the vendors they hired and whether they would recommend them. We offer as much of this information to all of our couples whenever they need it.  The less stress you have on your wedding day, the more relaxed you will be, and the better your photos will turn out.

We may not officially be wedding planners, but we want to work with you throughout your entire wedding planning process to make things as easy as possible for you.

You want your day captured as it happens - naturally

We are photojournalists. This means we capture the day as it happens. We love capturing real, authentic, candid, emotional moments. Whether it is laughs during the ceremony or speeches, tears during the vows or first dance, we try to capture everything in a creative, artistic manner.

This follows through into our editing style. We don’t copy and paste pre-made filters on all your photos so that they all look “vintage” or “pastel”. That’s what Instagram is for. The way you looked on your wedding day is the way you will look in your pictures.

We want the images we capture and process to be timeless.
