St Thomas More Church Wedding
Jessica and Steve are adventurous, adorable and absolutely crazy about each other. Their St Thomas More Church wedding ceremony included musical performances by Jessica’s students and the church choir.
Jessica and Steve met each other the old-fashioned way at an unconventional vocation – they worked together doing cemetery maintenance. After their first day of work together, Steve recalls, he went home knowing that he had just met the girl that we was going to marry.
For the ceremony, Jessica wore a stunning gown modelled after the one her grandmother wore on her wedding day. The classic sleeved, tea length ball gown looked absolutely stunning. For the evening she changed into a more modern lace gown, perfect for a rustic wedding reception.
The day that Jessica and Steve got married was also one of the craziest days for weather all summer. The morning started off with a few clouds that quickly grew to a mega-storm which collided over the McTaggart Sanctuary where we were taking portraits with the wedding party.
Thanks to some quick thinking by the groomsmen, the wedding party was able to wait out the storm indoors and grab a few Big Macs while they were at it.
Once the rain and hail subsided, the wedding party ventured forth to the reception at the Niksu Recreation Centre. This beautiful rustic hall had been transformed into an elegant reception lit by thousands of twinkling lights.
Later in the evening, after dinner and speeches were finished, we stole Jessica and Steve away for a few minutes. The dark clouds had passed and the light from the sunset was stunning.
They say that rain on your wedding day is a sign of good luck, but we know that with a love like this, no luck is needed.
