Elegant Country Wedding Edmonton.

Pam and Chris had one of the largest outdoor weddings we have ever seen!  They had over 200 guests who made their way to the Steeves family acreage for this elegant country wedding Edmonton.

It was early evening on Christmas Day 2015 when we got an email from Pam. Her boyfriend Chris had just proposed (literally) and she wanted to know if we could photograph their wedding. Flashback to summer 2015 when we first met Pam and Chris.  They were attending Julie & Jon’s Jasper Park Lodge Wedding. We got to talking and became fast friends. We bonded over our love for our four legged furbabies.

In March Pam, Chris and their dog Winston joined us in Banff for a very special engagement shoot in the mountains. From the first moment they stepped out of the truck this couple brought their A-Game when it came to style. Pam was in a gorgeous floor length red gown, and Chris in a three-piece charcoal grey suit.

Pam and Chris’ wedding was a full on elegant affair. Set in the beautifully manicured yard of the bride’s parents, there was no detail that was not attended to. The backyard was full of hundreds of flowerpots. They were packed full of bright blooms carefully grown by Chris’ mom. The flowers would later fill the giant white tent which hosted the reception and dance.

The bride and groom opted for a first look before their ceremony. They decided to do it at the exact same spot where Chris had proposed, exchanging hugs, a few tears and handwritten love letters.

Pam and Chris exchanged their vows and sealed their commitment with a knot-tying ceremony. With the roaring applause of family and friends they were pronounced husband and wife.

Under darkening skies guests retreated into the elegantly decorated tent. The tent had been lit by strings of lights and crystal chandeliers. Instead of guests clinking their glasses together to prompt the newly weds to kiss, Chris built “The Wheel of Love” which invited guests to take a spin to see if they could get the bride and groom to kiss.

The rainy weather could not do anything to dampen this party though! The DJ kept the dance floor packed all night. At the end of the night we managed to steal the bride and groom away for a few night portraits in the rain.
